COURSE DESCRIPTION
Music teachers already know that music inherently supports children’s overall literacy development. But how can music teachers intentionally support their specific school literacy goals? Through reading, discussing, and interviewing with educators about how K-2 students learn to listen, speak, read, and write, teachers will plan specific words and actions to promote literacy growth during music instruction.

Student workload is approximately 37.5 hours.

Prerequisites: Bachelor’s degree and teaching certificate in the area of music
