Hi! My name is Polina, and I teach general music in two Catholic schools in New Haven County in Connecticut. I have been teaching general and vocal music for eight years in private schools. I have three teaching certifications in music, dramatic arts, and technology and have won several grants in recent years. I also have a Teachers Pay Teachers store called Creating Musical Literature. How did you end up becoming a music teacher?
I loved the creativity of being a teacher and still marvel at how many different ways there are to teach and the new opportunities that come up!
Did a teacher influence your decision to enter education?
Yes, I had an influential piano teacher growing up.
What inspires you to share your experiences with other teachers?
I believe in giving back to others.
What is your favorite music teaching moment?
When all of my plans align and students understand the material.
What has been the biggest surprise/revelation about being a music teacher?
How creative this job can be!
How do you deal with stress?
I dance!

Tango, salsa, and anything danceable!
