Repairing or Replacing Damaged Boxes

Broken resonator boxes can be repaired with a few woodworking tools and patience.

Materials Needed:

  • 1/2 inch thick hardwood
  • Wood glue
  • Cutting tool
  • Sandpaper
  • Clamp
  • Polyurethane clear semi-gloss (optional)

Buzzing Resonator Boxes

Repair simple cracks on a buzzing glockenspiel.

Materials Needed:

  • Wood glue

Calking a Resonator Box

Seal edges and repair splits with caulk from your local hardware store.

Materials Needed:

  • Silicone caulk
  • Caulking gun
  • Scissors or Box Knife
  • Screwdriver
  • Caulking Tool
