Kristen Benoit

Kristen Benoit is in her 13^th year of teaching, with twelve of those years at CREC Montessori Magnet School in Hartford, CT. She has her Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Susquehanna University and her Masters in Early Childhood Education from Eastern Connecticut State University. Kristen has additionally completed certification in First Steps in Music and is a trained mentor for the Connecticut TEAM program for student teachers and new teachers.

Kristen is the only music teacher in her building where she teaches fourteen sections of general music in addition to pull-out instrumental lessons for all students in Grades 2-6. She has presented Professional Development for the Connecticut Music Educators Association as well as the Capitol Region Education Council. Kristen was the 2016 Teacher of the Year for CREC Montessori Magnet School and was awarded CREC Shining Star in November of 2015.
