Bernadette Chamberlain, pronouns she/her, is a General Music and Band director with experience on three different continents. Specializing in percussion and trombone, she graduated from Elmhurst University with a BA in K-12 Music Education. She began her career in Chicago Public Schools, but also taught in Chicago private schools which led to her curiosity for teaching abroad. The past three years she has taught early years general music in a UK curriculum-based international school in Beijing, China.
Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, her time there was cut short, leading to her new position teaching K-10 General Music at the American School of Antananarivo, Madagascar, an IB international school. Her love of travel only matches her passion for teaching music to children, and she is fortunate enough to experience both through her work as an international teacher. She enjoys yoga, cuddling with her rescue dog, and eating all the local foods she can find in her spare time.
